Helen Skelton wowed her fellow Morning Live presenters as she detailed her past gig on the BBC's Blue Peter, which at the time was her most prominent presenting role.
Helen snagged the role of host on the beloved children's show Blue Peter in 2008 when she was just 25 years old, stepping in for Zoe Salmon and becoming the renowned programme's 33rd permanent presenter.
Upon getting the part, an ecstatic Helen exclaimed: "I am absolutely thrilled to have been chosen. It's a dream come 'true' to get the best job in telly and to join the series in its 50th anniversary year is a massive honour."
Fans of the classic Blue Peter are well aware that the show had a hefty dose of creativity, often teaching children how to repurpose household rubbish like used Fairy liquid bottles into craft projects.
However, viewers might be surprised to learn from Helen herself that hosts weren't quite the DIY whizzes they appeared to be, as she bashfully admitted on the Morning Live episode broadcast on Monday (December 9th), reports Wales Online.

During the show, Helen was accompanied by her regular on-screen partner Michelle Ackerley, with both dazzling their audience in sparkly sequined pencil skirts coupled with cosy, oversized jumpers to mark the festive season.
The pair welcomed BBC Radio 2's celebrity OJ Borg to the show, who discussed the seasonal television lineup including Stacey Solomon's upcoming Christmas Craft show, when the spotlight transfered to Helens former stint on Blue Peter.
Michelle initiated the chat, stating: "Stacey Solomon, she's back with some crafting at Christmas," leading OJ to question the hosts: "Yeah, are you good at crafting?"

Helen and Michelle exchanged a knowing look before Michelle admitted: "We used to live together and we're really terrible at doing crafts," while Helen chimed in: "It wasn't a homemade Stacey Solomon type crafts."
OJ, taken aback by their confession, pressed Helen: "Wait a minute, hang on you were on Blue Peter, don't you have to be crafty? " Helen responded with a hushed: "Yeah, people thought that."

"No! Wait! What? I'm calling the papers," OJ exclaimed in horror, as Michelle couldn't help but laugh.
Helen, who was beloved on Blue Peter for half a decade, chose to leave to explore new opportunities. In 2013, she shared her gratitude: "I have been so lucky over the last five years. I have travelled the world, met amazing people, been part of some unbelievable adventures and I have loved every second of it."
