Strictly: Dr Punam Krishan and Gorka Márquez are sent home

Dr Punam Krishan became the fifth person to be eliminated on Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday night after finding herself in the bottom two. The contestant went head-to-head with former X-Factor star Shayne Ward, who found himself in the dance-off once again.

However, the judges all decided to keep Shayne in the competition, sending Punam home. Her routine had earned her a score of 26, putting her at the bottom of the leaderboard alongside Chris McCausland.

Punam joins Tom Dean, Toyah Willcox, Nick Knowles, and Paul Merson, who have also left the competition. This upcoming Saturday, the remaining contestants will tackle Icons Week, a first in the competition.

However, former Strictly star Ola Jordan shared who she believes could be in danger this weekend. When asked by Mecca Bingo about who she thinks could be at risk this weekend, Ola believes four people could be in danger.

She said: “It depends on the dances, but I think Pete, Shayne, Wynne, and Sam. I think Pete has got the public behind him, I think he's quite popular. Sam could be at risk if she doesn't pull it off, she’s got to be careful because she’s going to end up being in the bottom two. I think those four are in the danger zone."

Shayne was in the dance-off for a second time last weekend, despite earning a score of 31 for his Paso Doble. It was clear many viewers didn’t agree with the 40-year-old being at the bottom as many praised his performance.

However, people will have to wait until Sunday to see if the contestant manages to avoid being in the bottom once again.

This upcoming week, there will be some changes to the show as professional dancer Amy Dowden will be stepping down on Saturday after falling ill last weekend.

During the Halloween themed special, Amy started to feel unwell and collapsed backstage, with an ambulance being called to the studio as a precaution.

Instead, viewers will see her celebrity partner, JB Gill, partnered with Lauren Oakley while Amy recovers.

During the Halloween-themed special, Amy started to feel unwell and collapsed backstage, and an ambulance was called to the studio as a precaution.

JB and Amy performed a Foxtrot to the song "Dancing in the Moonlight." Their routine earned them a score of 32, putting them fifth on the leaderboard.

Jamie Borthwick

However, Sarah Hadland and Jamie Borthwick stormed ahead in the competition. They both secured a score of 38 for their routines, putting them in the top spot.

The EastEnders star has been at the top of the leaderboard for the past few weeks, earning a near-perfect score of 39 for his Pasa Doble.

Will he be the first in the competition to secure the ultimate score?

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 6:30pm
