Strictly Come Dancing star Chris McCausland admitted he wasn't happy as he addressed an issue during Saturday night's (September 28) instalment of the BBC show.

The comedian, 47, took to the dance floor for the second week alongside partner Dianne Buswell, performing a charming Foxtrot to Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy which left the audience and judges captivated.

Anton Du Beke branded their performance "wonderful" while Shirley Ballas praised Dianne's guidance, labelling it "off the wall" due to Chris's "beautiful footwork".

Back in the studio, Claudia Winkleman couldn't contain her laughter as she asked the Liverpudlian about his feelings post-dance. Chris humorously pointed out that his performance coincided with Liverpool FC's face-off against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

He hit the dance floor just as Arne Slot's team triumphed with a 2-1 victory, taking them to the top of the league table.

"I'm not happy to be honest as they've put me on 10 minutes before the Liverpool game ends. That's half of Liverpool watching the football, that's half of my core voter group," he told the presenter.

But Chris had no reason for concern as his routine captivated everyone and he was awarded an impressive score of 29 out of 40. Strictly fans were emotional following Chris's performance, with many proclaiming him a true inspiration, eagerly hoping he'll clinch the glitterball trophy.

"Chris is my winner. His skill is outstanding and makes it look effortless," declared one viewer. A second wrote: "Chris making me well up at the TV every week with pride."

A third echoed: "I still get emotional when Chris last night said on Dianne's vid diaries that he feels left out when he's literally the SOUL of the show this series."

While another mused: "Why do I always have a lump in my throat watching Chris dance? That was beautiful!" Chris and Dianne's impressive performance meant they finished sixth on the leaderboard.

At the top was former Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec, who were awarded an incredible 35 points for their moving Viennese Waltz to Misty Blue by Dorothy Moore.

Paul Merson found himself at the bottom of the leaderboard with Karen Hauer, scoring 15 points for their spirited Salsa.
