All Creatures Great and Small new arrival sparks tension in Yorkshire Dales

All Creatures Great and Small were introduces to a new character last night that has caused quite a stir in the Yorkshire Dales.

Doris, a Women's Land Army member and friend to Jenny, arrives in Darrowby to lend a hand at the Danby's farm. She also helps out at the Alderson's, where Helen encounters the Leeds native, sparking feelings of detachment from her sister.

Jenny, despite Helen's willingness to assist, encourages her to go back to James following his unexpected return, assuring her that they have enough support with Doris present.

"I can manage without you," Jenny tells Helen, leaving her feeling excluded as she watches the growing camaraderie between her sister and Doris, reminiscent of bygone days.

The sense of separation intensifies when Jenny tentatively discusses her intention to move to Leeds, with Doris offering to help her secure a position at a department store, according to Radio Times, reports Lancs Live.

Helen was taken by surprise, realising that she was the one who had ignited Jenny's doubts before eventually accepting the possibility of Jenny potentially departing.

However, they weren't the only ones grappling with change. James found himself in the role of father for the first time, a responsibility that clearly daunted him.

Despite his apprehensions, he embraced the challenge, only to encounter an immediate catastrophe when he left the baby bag, packed with essentials like nappies, on top of the car. The bag fell off as he drove off.

Fortunately, a farmer's daughter managed to fashion a makeshift nappy from tea towels when James recognised his mistake. However, this minor mishap paled in comparison to what was yet to come.

Helen, worried about the ongoing air raids in Leeds, is hesitant about Jenny taking a retail job. Although Richard believes Jenny is determined, Helen is not so sure.

The sisters' relationship is strained, and the atmosphere becomes even more charged during another fierce dispute over a horse, with Doris observing the tension uncomfortably.

But as avid viewers of All Creatures Great and Small are aware, keeping emotions bottled up and holding grudges can lead to dire outcomes, reminding us that it's crucial to communicate openly with those we care about.

Following a minor incident involving their mother's injured horse, the sisters finally had a heart-to-heart and reconciled.

It emerged that Helen's own words had unintentionally prompted Jenny to contemplate leaving the village - not Doris, as she had initially assumed.

After a long day at work, James was driving back to Skeldale House with Carmody when they realised they had left the baby behind, much to James's horror.

Even though the baby was in safe hands, James couldn't help but chastise himself for his careless error. However, Helen reassured him that he hadn't let them down and provided some much-needed perspective.
