Tipping Point staff have given an update on the future of the much-loved ITV quiz show. Fans were excited to tune in as the clock struck 4pm, hoping for another brand new episode, hosted by Ben Shephard.

However, they were disappointed to find an episode that originally aired in 2022 showing instead, as players Brian, Evanie and Harismar took on the arcade-style machine in a hope to win a cash prize.

The upset comes as the show aired new episodes earlier in the week, from Monday until Wednesday, but reruns have aired instead yesterday and today.

Taking to X/Twitter, one viewer fumed: "And yet another repeat. #TippingPoint," followed by an image showing that the episode was originally aired in 2022. The Tipping Point official Twitter account responded saying: "We apologize for the inconvenience!"

Another social media user posted: "#tippingpoint. A repeat. Repeats used to be programmes that were watching again….. now it’s cheap fillers. Like a cheap Butt lift." The ITV account responded once more, assuring the disgruntled fan that their feedback would be taken on board as they wrote: "We take all feedback into consideration!"

A third fan joined in on venting their frustrations, writing: "@TippingPointITV have itv got this episode stuck in their machine. It’s been on so many times."

This time, the show's X account responded with some welcomed news, as they said: "Apologies! We are working on new shows!"

As another viewer shared their distaste at another rerun, ITV once again confirmed the news that there would be new shows. They posted: "We apologize! New episodes are coming!"

Ben was recently quizzed about Tipping Point by a guest on ITV's This Morning - which he also hosts alongside Cat Deeley.

The guest asked: "Why is it that runners-up never get to keep what they've earned?" which caught Ben off guard. However, he stood his ground staunchly in defence of Tipping Point's rules, asserting: "Because, where's the jeopardy if you give the money to the runner-up as well?"

Amidst the ensuing clamour, Ben forcefully added one more line to make his stance crystal clear: "By the way, it's not my money!"

Tipping Point airs weekdays from 4pm on ITV and ITVX
