The Chase viewers threaten to switch off as they issue complaint to ITV bosses

ITV viewers were left fuming with The Chase bosses after a "poor" selection of contestants who struggled to make it through the first round

The Chase: Victoria chooses to take the lower offer

The Chase was spun into chaos on Thursday when Paul Sinha eliminated nearly all of the contestants leaving viewers furious at ITV bosses. During the nail-biting episode, fans on were the edge of their seat when Paul, 54, was left to battle it out with Lottie.

Four enthusiastic hopefuls stood in front of host Bradley Walsh, eager to beat the Chaser. However, one by one he took them out. Stuart, Victoria and Steve sailed through the first round, and all achieved decent figures of £5,000.

But when it came to battling with him across the table, they were given the boot within minutes after struggling to answer the questions. Immediately fans jumped to social media, slamming the show and threatening to switch over.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one user wrote: “This is a joke.” While another person added: “I can’t bear to watch this show anymore it’s getting stupid now.”

Another person agreed: "Worst episode of The Chase ever.”

Lottie, who is an actor from London, decided to go for the lower offer of £1,000 which thankfully got her back to the other side.

She was hoping after a good start Stuart would make it back to her. When he managed to answer five successful questions she was heard saying “just get back”.

Paul offered Stuart a whopping figure of £89,000, which would have gone a long way with his teammate Lottie.

However, he had to consider the lower offer of £1,000 as well as what he earned which was £5,000.

Lottie told him: “If you want to go low. Go low. But just get back.”

Stuart responded: “I am very tempted to go for the £89,000. But I know Lottie needs me. I will go straight down the middle and take the £5,0000. I just want to get back to Lottie.”

To the viewer’s shock, Stuart was pipped to the post and his hopes were crushed when he got the final question wrong.

Lottie kept her head held high as she entered the final round with Paul offering some sweet words of encouragement.

He said: “You have played so well and do have a chance. The best of luck.” Despite getting 13 answers correct and pushing Paul back twice, she lost out on winning £1,000.

The Chase is on ITV and ITVX every weekday at 5pm.
