Emmerdale's Caleb Milligan star looks unrecognisable in Coronation Street role
Emmerdale actor William Ash appeared in another ITV soap, where his character had a dramatic showdown with Corrie's Rita Sullivan, Emily Bishop, Blanche Hunt and Betty Williams.
Emmerdale's William Ash, who plays Caleb Milligan, the long-lost brother of Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), had a stint on rival soap Coronation Street 20 years ago.
His character, Johnny James, held up four Corrie legends at gunpoint in a dramatic storyline.
Johnny was a young criminal who robbed the Post Office and attempted to escape with the cash. He encountered Rita Sullivan (Barbara Knox), Emily Bishop, Blanche Hunt and Betty Williams, who were lost on a country road.
After his lies unravelled, he pulled out a gun, but Rita fought back. The police arrived just in time to arrest Johnny.
Following this 2002 episode, William appeared in other shows like Shameless, Casualty and Inspector George Gently, as well as films such as Playing Dead and Man In The Moon.
In 2002, the 47-year-old actor announced his return to the world of soaps, this time joining Emmerdale.
Will expressed his excitement about joining the show as Caleb, the son of the late Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter), in a statement.
"Emmerdale is packed full of fantastic actors and I'm really looking forward to working alongside them," he said. "Caleb is a fantastically complex character and I can't wait to get stuck in."

The actor made his debut in the Dales in the Christmas Day episode of 2022, with residents discovering Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope) was his son several months later.
In upcoming scenes, Caleb and Ruby Milligan (Beth Cordingly) are left heartbroken as doctors cannot bring Nicky out of his coma.
Later on Ethan Anderson (Emile Jon) is left bloodied and bruised in the middle of the road - with Ruby and Caleb being the prime suspects.
At a villege fair, villagers are alarmed when a battered Ethan limps into view before he collapses in front of everyone.
When he comes round, Ethan says he did not see his attack as his family rallies to his side.
Was it Ruby, Caleb or Cain behind the brutal assault?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
