Sunday Brunch's Simon Rimmer 'snubs' Strictly Come Dancing stint in 'awkward' quip
Sunday Brunch presenter Simon Rimmer has presented the show alongside co-host Tim Lovejoy since 2012 but has featured on some other popular TV shows.
Sunday Brunch: Simon Rimmer sounds like he has a sore throat
Sunday Brunch presenter Simon Rimmer seemed to forget his stint on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing back in 2017 during their show today. Simon and Tim Lovejoy were joined by Isabella Pappas, Max Harwood, Sarah Alexander, Lucy Beaumont, Nadia Rose and Melvin Odoom throughout the show.
BBC Radio 1 presenter Melvin Odoom touched on his experience of being the BBC One dancing competition and revealed he was the first to be voted out. However, he went on to win the Christmas special that same year, proving his luck wasn't in it with the competition.
However, it seemed that during the conversation of Strictly, Simon quickly brushed past his own experience of being on the show.
Referring to the Strictly Christmas special, Simon awkwardly snubbed: "I've never been asked to do it. Awkward."
He swiftly moved on to speak to their chef guest Candice Brown, who was cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
Simon was partnered with professional dancer Karen Hauer and performed the Waltz but often says that he still gets "angry" after messing up his routine.
They made it to week five of the competition but told the Daily Star at the time: "I had one dance that I messed up and, to this day, it still makes me angry six years since I did it.
"Every now and again I genuinely get angry with myself, and for Karen, for messing it up."

However, despite the mishap and the apparent brush-off during the show today, Simon praises his time on the show and how it helps push him out of his comfort zone.
He said on James Golding's Always In Season podcast: "Every single person wants you to succeed.
"There's no agenda, where they go, 'He's a bit rubbish so let's show him up a bit'. The pro dancers are amazing, you would die for your pro dancer."
Sunday Brunch airs Sunday from 9:30am on Channel 4.
