Charlotte Hawkins was reduced to tears after her Good Morning Britain co-host Adil Ray asked her about her 16-year-old dog's recent death.
Adil went off script to tell Charlotte: "I have to say, by the way, condolences to you, you recently lost your dog, Bailey."
As a picture of her hugging Bailey appeared on screen Charlotte got overwhelmed: "It's very sad, I'm getting upset now, sorry."
Charlotte broke down in tears as she explained the picture of the adorable pooch was from the last day they shared together.
She had to take a moment to compose herself as Adil rubbed her shoulder to comfort her.
"Are you OK?" Adil asked to which a tearful Charlotte replied: "I didn't expect that, that's the thing, it's hit me really hard actually.
"Thank you to everybody who sent me a message because I have not been able to talk about it and I've had so much support from people.
"I think for anyone who has lost a pet, you know how much they mean to you.
