To make things even more exciting, Lucifer’s fourth season was quickly followed by an announcement of a fifth - and final - season, giving fans a bittersweet feeling.
While many of the show’s cast have been praising the support they have been receiving since the announcement of the show’s renewal, Chloe Decker actor Lauren German has teased a sixth season.
Shortly after the renewal, Lauren posted some gratitude on her Twitter account, writing: “Thank you sincerely for your words and support.
“I can’t even believe how much I’ve seen from you all that you want a season six and more. As is, we are only doing a S5, however I have to thank you all for the love, interest and encouragement. We adore you, & thank you #Lucifer.”
However she recently posted yet another Tweet, hinting that a season six could be on the table if it was requested enough.
The new tweet read: “#Lucifans If you want a season six or more let it be heard.
“We love that you love #Lucifer your support on social media is cherished and important.
“And if it’s only a season 5… I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.”
She concluded by promising: “We won’t let you down. But if you want more let everyone know.”

While it was previously announced that just a fifth season would be happening - could the possibility of a sixth be on the horizon if enough fans speak out?
Lucifer star Tom Ellis doesn’t think so, as he tweeted shortly after the announcement: “It’s beautifully overwhelming to know how much love there is for #lucifer out there… thank you to everyone for your congratulations on the announcement of our final season.
“It’s bittersweet for us too but all good things must come to an end...always leave them wanting more!”
Amenadiel actor DB Woodside agrees with Lauren, as he recently told the attendees of Oz Comic Con: “I think if we were really being honest, I think we felt like we had six seasons.
“But it’s only one season shorter than what we were thinking anyway, and every good thing comes to an end.
“There’s never a perfect time to end a show. We didn’t want to be one of those shows people love, that you slowly see kind of dying.
“As bittersweet as it is, we get to leave the show on such a high.”
He later clarified by tweeting: “Hey… just to clarify, this was MY opinion. A Network/Studio can end a series when they want. That’s the way it goes.”
“@netflix has been absolutely INCREDIBLE to us guys. INCREDIBLE! YOU saved us, THEY saved us and now we have a chance to go out on a high! Please be positive.”
Lucifer season 4 is available to stream on Netflix now and season five is expected to start production this year.
