Don't flap, it's my woodpecker..
SCHOOLBOY Arthur Heywood uses his head as a bird table – to feed a woodpecker chick.
Arthur, 11, reared the chick, known as Woody, by hand after he found him helpless on the ground below a nest.
But even though he released him back in the wild a month later, the tame bird returns if he is peckish.
Arthur, of Woodborough, near Pewsey, Wilts, said:
“I call his name and he swoops out of the wood to land on my head.”
Eventually, he hopes Woody will be able to cope by himself.
