Diamond Jubilee: Royal Mail release stamps to celebrate The Queen's 60 years
HER face has always graced the nation’s stamps. But now Royal Mail has issued a series of portraits of Her Majesty marking key moments in her 60-year reign.
From her first Christmas television broadcast in 1957 to inspecting the troops in 2007, the eight stamps show archive photographs of significant royal moments, including Trooping The Colour in 1967 and the Silver Jubilee
celebrations in 1977.
Moya Greene, chief executive of Royal Mail, said: “The Diamond Jubilee, only the second in royal history after
Queen Victoria, is a very important anniversary.
