Katherine Jenkins to perform a Jubilee after Queen's royal request
SINGING star Katherine Jenkins will leave her dancing days behind her when she performs in the Diamond Jubilee celebrations – at the request of the Queen herself.
The Welsh beauty said she was told that the Queen personally asked for her to perform the national anthem before the Derby at Epsom racecourse on June 2.
“I just think, what a lovely, special thing to come home to do,” she said at her hotel in Hollywood, where she was gearing up for last night’s final of Dancing With The Stars after earning two perfect scores of 30 in her previous performance.
I’m involved in the Olympics too, but I can’t say anything about that just yet
Katherine, 31, who has shed pounds during the rigorous rehearsals for the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, said: “I was invited to do that before signing up for this show so I’ve known about it for a few months but I had to keep quiet.”
She added: “I’m involved in the Olympics too, but I can’t say anything about that just yet.”
