TAXPAYERS are set to fork out £144,000 for a so-called “place-making director” to boost a city’s image.
The newly-created job, condemned today as “a costly indulgence”, is being advertised just days after the new Government announced a crackdown on wasteful public spending.
Lib Dem-led Bristol City Council wants the successful applicant to boost the local economy by developing the city’s “sense of place”.
