Guatemala bus crash: Eight dead as minibus plunges into ravine
AT LEAST eight people have been killed and 15 seriously injured after a minibus veered off the road and plunged into a ravine at a mountainous region in western Guatemala, it has emerged.

The vehicle was travelling in the San Pedro Necta municipality, close to the country’s border with Mexico, when the incident took place, according to a spokesman for the country’s fire services.

The country was plunged into panic last year when a 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck that caused tremors to be felt across the coast.
It struck 13km southwest of the city of Retalhuleu - there were no reports of damage.
Two months, prior, the country was hit with another huge earthquake that killed 361 people.
Another 6,000 people were injured from the disaster that caused buildings to collapse.
