47 children injured in school bus crash in Germany - 10 in serious condition
AT LEAST 47 have been injured - ten seriously - after a school bus crashed into a SHOP in southern Germany this morning. A police spokesman reported seeing children covered in blood at the scene.
At least 20 have been injured in the crash
Of those ten, five are said to be in a critical condition.
Three helicopters and dozens of ambulances attended the scene.
The bus, which was completely full, smashed into oncoming traffic before crashing into an electronics shop just before 9am this morning in Eberbach near Heidelberg in southern Germany.
Police spokesperson Markus Winter: "The conditions were dramatic. Many children were lying inside the bus covered in blood. A truly terrible sight"

Local media reports several people were trapped inside the bus for some time.
Police operations manager Markus Lenk spoke of the harrowing scenes, he said: "I am a father myself. This operation is leaving its mark on us."
The driver of the bus is said to have escaped with light injuries.
As it was an innrer city bus, it is unlikely any of the passengers wre wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
The cause of the crash remains unknown.
Officers have set up a collection point for parents to pick up their children from the scene.
