Teenage Briton dies after collapsing in street in Ibizan party resort
A TEENAGE British tourist has died after collapsing in Ibiza as he walked along the street with a group of friends.
The 19-year-old dies despite the best efforts of paramedics
The 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene in the party resort of San Antonio despite efforts by paramedics to save him.
An autopsy is due to take place this morning.
Insiders said there were no obvious signs the death was alcohol or drugs-related and it was suspected it may have been due to an existing and possibly previously undetected health problem.
It is not known where in the UK the youth is from.
The tragedy happened around 2.45am this morning in the central San Antonio street of Vara de Rey.
The insider said: “Emergency services received a 112 call just after 2.45am.

“Paramedics were sent to the scene and attempted over a lengthy period of time to revive him but were unable to do anything to save his life.”
There doesn’t appear to be any initial evidence of alcohol or drugs
Another source said: “There doesn’t appear to be any initial evidence of alcohol or drugs intoxication.
“Things will become clearer after the autopsy has taken place.”
The dead man is understood to have been staying at a hotel near to where he collapsed.

It was not immediately clear if he was heading back to the hotel after a night out or was on his way to go partying.
Police have been informed of the incident and are awaiting the results of the autopsy.
The Brit’s friends were also expected to be questioned today to discover if they could offer any clues as to what might have happened.
