Munich attack - Shooting at German station - several injured amid gunman rampage
A GERMAN police officer has been left fighting for her life after she was reportedly shot in the head at a metro station.

Several shots were fired at Unterföhring station in the city of Munich after a man snatched a gun from a police officer, according to German media outlet Focus.
Passengers were ordered to evacuate as the incident unfolded, while around 100 officers stormed to the scene.
A police spokesman said: "Apparently a female police officer got hurt."

Police say "several" have been left injured and one policewoman has been left "seriously injured" after shots were fired.
Panicked eyewitnesses spoke from the scene.
One said:"Five shots were fired. We had to leave the train."
During routine identity checks a man snatched a gun from an officer on the platform and started shooting at at 8.23am.
The suspect was himself shot and lightly wounded.

A police helicopter is circling from above the crime scene.
One person has been arrested and police have said "the situation is under control".
The motive for the attack is currently unknown, but police officers said they believe it is not-related to terror.
A police spokesman said: "The situation is under control. There is no more danger to the public."

Dramatic images taken from the scene show swarms of police and vehicles surrounding the local area.
Other gruesome images show blood splattered on the floor.
Germany is on high alert following a series of Islamist-inspired terror attacks.

The incident unfolded nearly a year after the horrific Munich shooting in July.
Teenager David Sonboly killed nine people and injured 36 others in the cowardly attack at the Olympia shopping centre.
The 18-year-old, who had dual Iranian-German nationality, then turned the gun on himself as police closed in.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is under pressure to crack down on extremism, following her open-door refugee policy.
It comes a week after the London Bridge terror attack, where a trio of ISIS terrorists killed eight and injured dozens others.
