The school in the west of France was evacuated following reports of a gunman earlier today.
The man was spotted near the school in the town, which is located south of Nantes.
One mother told local press: “The students are confined. My daughter does not know when she's going home. They have heard about an armed man but they know nothing.”
Another mother later said: “My daughter was escorted to her bus. The students were not told what was going on. My daughter was warned by a girlfriend who was already out of high school.
“She was confined for an hour. Young people who had to go back by bike or on foot had no right to leave school before their parents came to pick them up.”
Local media claim the gunman was spotted by a school bus driver and some children.
