THE Royal family of Norway have been celebrating the country's National Day at a children’s parade in Asker while wearing the country’s traditional outfits.
Members of the Norweigan Royal Family have been out for the country's National Day
Princess Mette Marit, Prince Haakon, Prince Sverre Magnus and Princess Ingrid Alexandra all joined in the day’s festivities, known as syttende Mai.
The day, which marks the day Norway’s Constitution was signed in 1814, features the biggest street party in the country of the entire year.

Children’s parades go through every town and city, while parents support and indulge in an afternoon of drinking while waving the Norwegian flag proudly.
Like in Scotland with the kilt, each area of Norway has its own dress, which changes in colour and style.

Prince Haakon hit the headlines last week when he shaved his beard halfway through the King and Queen’s 80th birthday celebrations.
The event honoured King Harald who celebrated his 80th birthday in February and his wife Queen Sonja who will turn 80 in July.
