The tradition of children rolling wooden eggs on the White House’s South Lawn dates back to 1878, and the First Lady’s communications director said Mrs Trump was keen to embrace the family-focused event.
“She wanted to get back to the tradition, so we’re bringing back some traditional elements, like military bands, and focusing on the family itself,” said Stephanie Grisham.
