HOLIDAYMAKERS have had a miracle escape after a private plane crash landed on a popular beach on Tenerife.

The aircraft had to make an emergency landing on the beach of Las Teresitas in the capital of Santa Cruz at lunchtime today.
Three occupants were injured including a teenager of 14.
Firemen had to cut through the roof of the plane to release the man but it is understood that the woman and girl were able to walk away from the wreckage . They are understood to be of Belgium and British nationality.
The incident happened after an alert was received from Tenerife airport that a light aircraft was in trouble and was going to perform an emergency landing on the airport runway.

The plane had just left the airport to head for Morocco when a technical problem was discovered.
Munites later stunned swimmers reported that the plane had crashed on the beach.

Fire crews were called out amid fears that no one had escaped but all three survived and were rushed to hospital.
The Mayor of Santa CruZ Jose Manuel Bermudez said it was a miracle no one had been killed either on the beach or in the plane.
