A COFFEE shop has been bombed in Turkey sparking a major police operation.

The attack took place at a busy coffee shop in the Düztepe district of Gaziantep with reports of grenades being thrown at the property.
Emergency services have been sent to the scene after a large explosion was heard.
Police have launched a large-scale operation to capture the perpetrators who are said to be on the run.
It is believed the suspects threw hand grenades at the packed coffee shop as they rode past on a motorbike

A bag was also reportedly seen exploding.
Gaziantep Governor's Office confirmed police have launched a major investigation.

No deaths have been reported in the attack in Western Turkey but dozens are feared to be wounded.
The attack comes just months after bombings in Gaziantep in August and May which killed nearly 100 people.
More than 50 people were killed in a bombing in the city of Gaziantep in August. ISIS claimed responsibility for the atrocity.
Gaziantep is just 37 miles away from the Syrian border and the city has become a hub for those fleeing the war-torn country.
Turkey has been rocked by a series of bombings and attacks in the past few months, as well as a failed coup attempt.
45 people were left dead and hundreds more injured in a terror attack at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport in June after gunmen opened fire and detonated suicide bombs.
