Emergency services swarmed to Turkey's chamber of commerce building in Antalya, close to the region's airport that thousands of British holidaymakers pass through every year.
An eyewitness said the blast shattered windows and left people covered in blood after a vehicle exploded shortly after 8.50am local time.
The exact number of casualties or fatalities is not yet known.
Express.co.uk has contacted the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to determine if any British tourists have been caught up in the attack.
The detonation was timed to coincide with hundreds of employees arriving for work in the financial district but no terror group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
