TERRIFYING time-lapse footage has emerged of the powerful volcano that erupted yesterday in Mexico.

The sped-up video shows the full scale of the eruption of the Colima volcano, which led to the evacuation of two villages nearby.
In the clip, molten lava is seen flowing from the volcano’s peak and smoke raging into the sky.

Dramatic eruptions soon follow leaving the volcano lost completely engulfed in flames, lava and smoke.
The volcano is located between the western states of Colima and Jalisco and is one of the Mexico’s most active.
Head of national emergency services Luis Felipe Puente told Reuters that about 350 people living near the site in the towns of La Yerbabuen, La Becerrera and Juan Barragan were moved to emergency shelters.
Authorities later extended the exclusion zone to a distance of 12km from the volcano’s crater.
No one has been injured.
