POLAND has demanded the UK Government educates Britons on the meaning of Brexit in order to establish what will happen to Polish people living in the country.

The Polish foreign minister, Witold Waszczykowski, called on Britain to tell its citizens that Brexit does not mean foreigners will be thrown out.
The minister said Poland “can’t guard every foreigner” but added: “We would like to see a great educational campaign to show that Brexit does not mean people will be thrown out or made to leave.
“Those who work and have the correct legal status: their rights will continue.”

While Britain has not stated that Poles will be allowed to remain in the UK after Brexit, Theresa May said in July they would “continue to be welcome” during a visit to Warsaw.
