Burkas will ‘NOT be tolerated': Jobs boss refuses to employ women with full veils
THE boss of the German Federal Employment Agency has vowed that women in burkas will not get a job under his administration.
Weise said he will not tolerate people in burkas and sloppy clothing
Frank-Juergen Weise, manager of the 'Bundesagentur fur Arbeit' (BA), said that fully-veiled women will not be "tolerated" in his offices.
If it is not reflected in a behaviour that contradicts our values, wearing a headscarf is fine for me
He said: "An employee with a Burka will not be tolerated here. Just like people with sloppy clothes will not be accepted."
However, the labour chief said that headscarves are allowed by the job centre.
The German Home Secretary recently announced a partial ban on burkas in certain public spaces
Weise explained: "If it is not reflected in a behaviour that contradicts our values, wearing a headscarf is fine for me. Then it is just a piece of clothing."
The news that job centres will not accept fully-veiled women follows the recent declaration by German Home Secretary Thomas de Maiziere of a partial ban on the full-face veil.

According to his proposal, it should be prohibited in some public spaces, such as day-care centres, schools, universities and courtrooms.
The declaration by de Maiziere has caused some controversy in the country.
The call by the jobs boss comes after a poll of Germans revealed 81 per cent were against the burka being used in public.
