Americans shun Trump and campaign to install Britain’s QUEEN as head of state
AMERICANS appalled by the prospect of Donald Trump becoming president are calling on the Queen to take back the former British colony.
Americans against Trump are calling for Queen Elizabeth II to take over as their head of state
Tens of thousands have shared an online letter calling for Britain – which lost America in the Revolutionary War of 1765 – to step in and save the nation if Trump and the Republicans win the election on November 8.
Many historians have argued that the former British Colony was never formally rescinded at the end of the war in 1783 and that George Washington and Benjamin Franklin merely signed a document removing the United States as a liability and obligation of King George.
Now they want to act on that anomaly and, in a play on Donald Trump’s repeated incantation to 'Make America Great Again', a growing number of US citizens are making a call to 'Make America Great Britain Again'.
I urgently implore you to take us back
And they want Queen Elizabeth at the helm,
The shared a letter, which went viral on the internet, asked the Queen to overrule the Declaration of Independence and take America back as a British colony:
It read: “On behalf of the American people, I urgently implore you to take us back.”
The letter went viral on social media
Republican candidate Donald Trump could win the election on November 8
A spokesman for Buckingham Palace dismissed the letter.
But the campaign continues.
It's been shared thousands and thousands of times on Facebook and Tumblr.
Donald Trump is known for his controversial speeches
And while many posts are light-hearted just as many appear deadly serious about the prospect.
One Twitter user said: “I really hope she goes through with this. Please, please let her go through with it. I’ll pay taxes on tea again if I have to, just make him go away!!!
And another added: “If he wins… please, take us back, because we will truly have lost all hope by then.”
