Children's hospital partially evacuated after false bomb threat
POLICE partially evacuated a children’s hospital after receiving reports of an active shooter and a bomb threat.
The hospital has been partially evacuated
Police rushed to the scene of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, in Miami, Florida, after receiving reports of a gunman on the loose.
A bomb threat was also reported, but police later confirmed that the shooting was a false alarm.
The warning came in around 3.30pm on Friday.
Officers have cordoned off the area and are directing traffic away from the scene.

The hospital later said no shooting occurred on campus, but was partially evacuated while police investigated the situation.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a huge police presence at the hopsital, as officers swept the area.

Miami-Dade police have said this is a precautionary measure, and have added PIOs are en route to the scene.
No injuries have been reported.

The hospital is South Florida’s only hospital exclusively for children, and has a staff of more than 650 physicians and over 130 paediatric specialists.
