Several injured after explosion in busy city centre
SEVERAL people have been injured after a gas explosion rocked the European city of Frankfurt.

The disaster struck at a coffee shop close to a bustling shopping promenade in the German city on Monday.
Reports suggest two people were seriously injured, while a further two suffered minor injuries.
The city’s Fire Service suggested spray from a gas can ignited, causing the explosion.
It is likely people were injured by flying shards of glass.

Police confirmed the initial investigation indicated the explosion happened in the kitchen area of the cafe.
Witnesses claimed they smelled gas at the scene.

Emergency service were still at the scene, according to the latest reports.
Police are treating the incident as an accident, but that has yet to be officially confirmed.
