A POPSTAR died after being bitten by a cobra live on stage which she was performing with.

Indonesian singer Irma Bule continued to entertain crowds for 45 minutes after being struck by the venomous serpent.

The 29-year-old regularly performed with a variety of snakes as part of her act, known as dangdut, which uses props.
Doing a show in West Java, the singer reportedly trod on the tail of cobra, causing it to lash out and sink its jaws into her thigh.
The King Cobra which delivered the fatal blow, called Rianti, has not been defanged.
Despite snakes handlers on site with anti-venom, she allegedly refused the life-saving serum and chose to continue with her act.
But roughly 45 minutes after the fatal bite, she began convulsing and threw up on stage in front of horrified onlookers.
She was rushed to hospital but later died from the venom.

The accident happened in the middle of the second song
It is thought she was able to continue for so long with the deadly poison coursing through her bloodstream as it took a while for it to reach her heart.
She is said to have been bitten after her first song.
Member of the audience, Ferlando Octavion Auzura, told a local reporter: "The accident happened in the middle of the second song when Irma stepped on the snake' s tail.
