TV reporter gets £26.6m payout after stalker posted naked hotel footage of her online
A TV sports reporter has won a multi-million pound compensation deal after naked footage of her from secret filmed in her HOTEL ROOM was plastered over the internet.
Journalist Erin Andrews was stalked by Michael David Barrett
Erin Andrews said she vomited when she saw the clip of herself online following a stay at the Nashville Marriott in Tennessee.
The sports reporter, 37, was victim to a stalker who had booked a room next door before inserting a camera into a peephole.
Michael David Barrett was jailed for two years for stalking her.
The humiliated journalist took up a civil case against him and the hotel chain seeking £52m.
Erin Andrews said she was physically sick when she saw the footage online
She claimed the hotel was negligent by giving Barrett a room next to hers at his request in 2008.
During the case Andrews broke down as she testified the incident had left her humiliated and that she now checks her rooms for recording devices when she travels.
And the jury found in her favour, awarding her £26.6m.
Jurors found Barrett 51 per cent at fault and the hotel owners West End Hotel Partners 49 per cent, with the damages bill split accordingly.
