British tourist fighting for life after being stabbed in HEAD during San Francisco mugging
A BRITISH man is fighting for his life after being stabbed in the head during a mugging in San Francisco.
The brutal mugging has left the British tourist in hospital with life-threatening injuries
The 44-year-old was walking with his niece when he was attacked by a man and a woman at around 8.30pm on Friday evening.
A struggle took place but the man refused to hand over his green bag, which contained his phone, passport, money and credit cards.
He attempted to flee but was chased down by the male attacker, who brutally stabbed him in the head.

His bag was stolen while he lay bleeding on the pavement, while the attacker's female accomplice unsuccessfully attempted to grab the victim's niece's bag.
The knifeman is described as black, 5ft 10, aged in his 30s or 40s and with a heavy muscular build. He was wearing a hooded top during the attack.
His accomplice is also described as black and had dreadlocks or braids worn in a ponytail. She is believed to be about 5ft 4ins and aged around 20 and was wearing a green and grey wool scarf.

Police spokesman Albie Esparza said: "The male suspect approached the male victim, chased him down the block and took his property.
"There was a brief struggle and during the robbery the suspect stabbed the victim in the head with a knife or sharp object.
The 44-year-old victim is in a serious condition in San Francisco General Hospital
"The female victim is visiting from Southern California and the male victim is visiting from the UK.
"Right now, the male victim is listed with life threatening injuries at the hospital."

Another police spokesperson said that tourists need not fear being specifically targeted.
He said: "It happens to everybody, so every now and then there's going to be a tourist in the mix."
