Baby bit to death by RATS after teenage mum leaves child to go PARTYING
RATS bit a four-month-old baby to death after her teenage mum left her at home to go out dancing.
Rats chewed off part of the child’s face and fingers at a rundown house near Mexico City
The rodents chewed off part of the child’s face and fingers at a rundown house in Acolman near Mexico City.
Her mum, named as 18-year-old Lizbeth Jeronima Fuentes Munguia, alerted neighbours after returning home in the early hours of Tuesday morning and finding the little girl lying lifeless in her cot.
She was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics rushed to the property to try to save her.
Moments later her mum was arrested and taken away by police to give a statement.
Local reports said the baby’s unnamed grandmother, who had been left in charge of the youngster, had also been held.
Neighbours said Lizbeth, a single mum, had left the house two years earlier so she could go to a party in the nearby municipality of Otumba.
Her whereabouts today was unclear.

My son was not killed by the rats
Last August a newborn baby died in an Indian hospital after a rat gnawed off his fingers and ate his left eye.
Three health officials were suspended over the incident at the Guntur Government Hospital in Andra Pradesh state where the 10-dad-old boy was being treated for a urinary tract problem.
Heartbroken mum Lakshmi Chavali, speaking after the tragedy as harrowing pictures of her son lying in an intensive care unit were released, said: “My son was not killed by the rats but by doctors and staff at GGH.
