TERRIFIED shoppers ran for their lives after a car rammed into a shopping centre sparking fears of a terror attack.

The shocked shoppers fled the scene screaming “bomb” after the car crashed into the building.
Believing the vehicle was packed with explosives, the crowd descended into a frenzy trying to get a way from the apparent “terror attack”.
A witness said: “The place was packed and people began to run shouting, 'Bomb, bomb, shots, shots’.
“People fled and others came in to hide. It was absolutely terrifying. I heard a really loud noise which seemed like shots and people running and shouting.
“I grabbed my daughter and we hid in the corner of a changing room. My daughter was crying. It was a frightening experience.”

At least 12 people were injured in the incident which took place in Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona, on January 2.
Despite the terror fears, police have said they believe the incident was thieves trying to make a swift getaway.
A spokesman for the Mossos d’Esquadra police said: “Because the car made so much noise and it was such a violent impact, people thought they'd heard shots.

“But I can confirm the incident was linked to the theft in the shop and nothing to do with a terrorist attack.”
Officials confirmed they are still searching for the wanted men, who fled from the damaged car.
