Internet craze of reaching around your back and touching your BELLY BUTTON goes VIRAL
INTERNET crazes Charlie Charlie, Neknomination and the Ice Bucket Challenge have clogged up social networks in the past year but the latest may be the simplest - and strangest - of all.
The craze sees people post photos of themselves touching their navels
Originating in China, putting your arm around your back and touching your naval has gone viral on Sina Weibo, the Asian version of Twitter, with over 130 MILLION mentions since yesterday.
The hashtag translates as "reach your belly button from behind to show you have a good figure" and sees men and women putting photos on the internet of them trying to pull off the bizarre feat.
But rather than proving you are svelte, some argue it just requires flexibility.
Over 130million people had mention the craze on Sina Weibo
Some say the belly button craze can only be achieved by those who are thin enough
Xiang Tang, an aerobics instructor, said: "Even people with a fuller figure can do it if they are flexible enough."
Guo Kang, who claims to be a gymnast, said: "A lean person with fewer muscles is more likely to complete the challenge."
Some photos back up the claims anyone can do it showing successful attempts from men touching their beer belly buttons proving fitness is not so much of an issue in the challenge.
Sough Sa's photo went viral with fan's applauding his effort
A lean person with fewer muscles is more likely to complete the challenge
One less-than-lean participant, Sough Sa, completed the challenge and wrote: "Is this trend really that difficult? I don't think so."
More than 2,000 responded to his photo, with one Weibo user commenting: "You go Buddha! Show the skinny girls how it's done."
Some experts even say those with six packs will find it harder to pull off the belly button trick, while others suggest you just need long arms rather than a thin waist.
Previous internet sensation, the Charlie Charlie game, went viral across the world last month, with web users summoning demons with the use of pencils.
