Investigation carried out at clinic where Joan Rivers suffered cardiac arrest
THE CLINIC where Joan Rivers suffered complications while undergoing a throat procedure is being investigated.
The New York Department of Health confirmed that they were looking into the events at the Yorkville Endoscopy clinic which led to the comedienne suffering a cardiac arrest.
TMZ has reported that the clinic has been forced to employ extra security after receiving threats from Rivers' fans.
The star was rushed from the clinic after she stopped breathing while undergoing an operation on her vocal chords on August 28.
She was put on life support at New York's Mount Sinai Hospital, but died yesterday aged 81.

Her daughter Melissa said: "My mother's greatest joy in life was to make people laugh.
"Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon."
Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his condolences to Rivers's family and said she would be deeply missed.
He said in a statement: "Joan Rivers brought laughter to millions around the world and was proud of her Jewish heritage and a vocal supporter of the State of Israel."
Prince Charles, who invited Rivers to his 2005 wedding, said he was "deeply saddened" at her death.
He added: "Joan Rivers was an extraordinary woman with an original and indefatigable spirit, an unstoppable sense of humour and an enormous zest for life.
"She will be hugely missed and utterly irreplaceable."
