Australia attempt to claim New Zealand's Olympic success
WITH the two nations being so close, its not hard to believe that the Aussies might be tempted to put New Zealand's Olympic glory in with their own.
And sure enough, with Australia having an unusually less than successful Olympics, it seems the nation are taking New Zealand's glory.
Published on the back page of Sydney's Daily Telegraph, 'Aus Zealand' sits proudly in ninth place in the medal tables with four gold, 12 silver and 11 bronze.
Of these Australia has in fact just one gold medal, 12 silver and 7 bronze.
According to the New Zealand Herald, the Sydney Morning Herald's Richard Hinds wrote that while Australia was not living up to Olympic expectations that 'Team Oceania' was having a great games.
New Zealand is currently 10 places higher than Australia in the medal table.
