Donald Trump LIVE: US President blasts 'sinister' China in 'breaking news' announcement
US President Donald Trump says he is de-classifying documents and 'critical intelligence' surrounding the country's election processes

Two major US broadcasters have confirmed that they will not air President Donald Trump's primetime speech in full.
The US leader will address America at 2am UK time on Friday, July 17.
Both ABC News and NBC News have said they will not air Trump speech live on their broadcasts.
Trump has shared little about his upcoming speech. He has, however, said that his address will contain "really big news" about election security.
The American president told reporters on Tuesday: "It doesn't get bigger, because without free and fair elections, you don't have a country."
It is expected that Trump will speak on his 2020 election defeat to Joe Biden, which he continues to claim was a result of voter fraud.

Trump's administration to work for secure election system
Trump's administration will work with states and local jurisdictions for a secure election system.
"We're in the process of informing governors, senators and members of Congress of potential issues in their states," Trump said.
"If you look at voting today, it's in such bad shape in so many states, and we are committing to fix it."
Trump claims China illicitly accessed information on US voters
Trump claimed that China illicitly gained access to information on US voters.
"That information includes names, addresses, phone numbers, political party preferences, and other sensitive data that would be needed to register to vote and engage in other nefarious activities. Which is exactly what was happening," Trump said.
Voter information is generally accessible public record in most states.
Trump claims 'shocking vulnerabilities in our election infrastructure'
Trump said: "Tonight, I'm announcing the immediate declassification and release of critical intelligence, revealing shocking vulnerabilities in our election infrastructure.
"This evidence shows that the election system we have dangerously exposes and really exposes like levels never thought possible to hacking, exploitation, and foreign interference.
"Just as disturbingly, this vital information has for many years been covered up and hidden from you."
Trump says US thriving under his leadership
Trump has said that the US is thriving under his leadership.
"Two years ago, our country was dead. Now we are the hottest country anywhere in the world," he said.
"America is respected like we have never been respected before. We have more money being invested in the United States than at any time in the history of our country. More Americans are working today than ever before."
Foreign interference in 2020 election ruled out years earlier
A US intelligence report concluded that there was no foreign interference in the 2020 election. This was done before Trump's first term ended in January 2021.
"We have no indications that any foreign actor attempted to alter any technical aspect of the voting process in the 2020 US elections, including voter registration, casting ballots, vote tabulation, or reporting results," the report, issued under Trump, said.
"We assess that it would be difficult for a foreign actor to manipulate election processes at scale without detection by intelligence collection on the actors themselves, through physical and cyber security monitoring around voting systems across the country, or in post-election audits," it said.
The report was made public by the Biden administration in March 2021.
White House says Trump's speech to contain 'breaking news'
The White House has shared in a post on X that Trump's speech will contain breaking news.
The post reads:
"9 PM EST. President Donald J. Trump addresses the nation with breaking news. Don't miss it."
Senator Mike Rounds: 'Our focus has got to be on winning in 2026'
Some Republicans have shared that Trump's focus on the 2020 elections may not be advantageous ahead of the midterms in November.
"Our focus has got to be on winning in 2026, both the US House and the Senate," Senator Mike Rounds told The Hill.
"I am more interested in looking about four months ahead to the 2026 elections, rather than looking six years back to the 2020 election."
Democrats are favoured to take control of the House.
The Senate is often seen as a long shot for Democrats to flip. However, it seems possible in the upcoming vote.
Polls have shown that issues like affordability and Iran war are weighing heavily on voters' minds.
US Senator: Time for complacency with China is over
US Senator Bernie Moreno shared in a post on X that he has been briefed by the White House on what to expect.
"I would encourage every American to tune in tonight to the President's speech," he wrote.
"This may be the most important Oval Office address since the Cuban Missile Crisis.
"The time for complacency with China is over."
