Ferrari driver sees red
A FERRARI driver has been arrested after he allegedly attacked the owner of a Fiat who did not give way as he tried to overtake it on an Italian motorway.
The 32-year-old driver of the red Ferrari 485 – worth £166,000 and with a top speed of 200mph – repeatedly rammed the small car.
The motorist, who has not been named, forced the Fiat 600 on to the hard shoulder, then smashed a window and beat up the 32-year-old inside, police said.
A passenger from the Ferrari joined the attack.
Drivers on Rome’s ring road called police and a passing off-duty officer also stepped in.
Eventually police arrested the Ferrari driver and his friend, who are being held for assault, criminal damage and resisting arrest.
A search of the Ferrari uncovered £23,600 in cash and police are trying to establish where it came from.
The driver of the Fiat escaped with minor cuts and bruises.
