Melbourne school principal 'stabbed by member of staff' as school in lockdown

A man has been arrested following a knife attack at a Melbourne school. The headteacher was allegedly stabbed by a fellow staff member at Keysborough Secondary College, according to the Mail.
Victoria Police have confirmed officers rushed to reports of an assault at the Keysborough school at approximately 3pm on Tuesday, 2 December.
The victim was rushed to hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds.
A man was detained at the scene as the school was reportedly placed into lockdown, reports the Mirror.
The Mail reports the victim was the headteacher, with pupils claiming they were ordered to take cover under desks as the attack unfolded.
A suspect was arrested and also transported to hospital under police supervision with minor injuries.
Police will question the man and have stated it is believed the two individuals know each other.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said: "Police have arrested a man following an assault in Keysborough on 2 December. It is alleged that a male assaulted another man at a secondary school about 3pm.
"The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries consistent with a stabbing. Officers quickly arrived on scene and arrested a man.
"He was taken to hospital under police guard with minor injuries. He will be interviewed by police.
"At this stage investigators believe the people involved are known to each other. The investigation remains ongoing."
