Whether it is landing in the middle of the sea or prime views of some of Europe's biggest attractions, these 15 airport landings offer a unique view tourists will only be able to see from a plane.
Below is a list of the world's best airport landings along with which side of the plane passengers should sit on if they want to see the views.
Rio de Janeiro
Travellers arriving at Rio de Janeiro's Galeao International Airport will be treated to hills, backed by lush mountains and fringed by slashes of sandy beaches along with the Atlantic Ocean beyond.
But the city's smaller airport Santos Dumont offers incredible views of Guanabara Bay.
Passengers sitting on the right side will be able to see Rio landmarks including Sugarloaf Mountain.
Male
Velana International Airport in Male in the Maldives offers spectacular views of the atoll-sprinkled Indian Ocean as passengers come in to land.
Either side of the plane offers stunning views of the island's clear blue waters.
Venice
Those landing at Venice's Marco Polo Airport will see the city spoon underneath them from the MOSE flood barriers and Lido island to the terracotta roofs, stocky belltowers and Grand Canal.
Visitors will also be able to see Burano and Torcello islands, before landing amid the salt marshes of the north lagoon.
For the best views, passengers should sit on the right side of the plane.
Cape Town
Travellers heading to Cape Town will be able to see some of the best natural views in the world on their flight.
Travellers fly past Table Mountain and get a glimpse of Simon’s Town on the Cape peninsula as well as soaring over the ocean.
Passengers should sit on the right side.
San Francisco
The landing at San Francisco is up there with Cape Town and Rio for its natural beauty, and passengers will get views aplenty landing in the city.
It is best at take off, when the left side can offer views of the city and Golden Gate Bridge before the plane banks east.
On landing, either side should give travellers water views with glimpses of the ocean to the left and the Bay Area to the right.
