Onboard one of the world's most luxurious trains once used by the Royal Family
The incredible journey offers a glimpse back into the past - but can set you back over £10,000 a ticket.
One of the most luxurious trains in the world offers the chance to literally travel like 20th century royalty - but with the comforts of the 21st.
The Renfe Al Ándalus train was originally used by the British monarchy to travel from Calais to the Cote d'Azur in France in the late 1920s. Now, however, the same carriages take tourists on a beautiful journey through Andalusia in Spain.
The ultra-luxurious train offers the elegance and beauty of the height of the 1920s, evoking the “Belle Epoque”. However, it also comes equipped with 21st century comforts like modern bathrooms and wifi.
Running for seven days and six nights, the train takes two different routes. The first departs from Seville and continue on to Jerez and Cadiz, Ronda, Cordoba, Úbeza and Baeza, Granada and finally Malaga.
The second itinerary departs from Malaga and heads towards Granada, Linares and Baeza, Ubeda and Cordoba, Ronda, Jerez, Cadiz and Seville.
Throughout these, the journey offers incredible views of the Andalusian countryside, as well as several World Heritage sites.
The bedrooms of this hotel-on-wheels are also magnificent, providing panoramic views to take in the best of the journey.
At 450 metres long, the train is the equivalent of a 150-storey skyscraper, and is the longest of its kind in Spain. In total, the train can accommodate up to 74 people in its seven sleeping cars.
However, such luxury comes at a cost.
A Grand Class room, 6.5m2 in size, comes at £9,556 (€11,200) for a double cabin and £8,105 (€9,500) for a single cabin.
This comes with all the bonuses including; breakfast, lunch and dinner, a welcome drink and aperitif, toiletries and activities on board, scheduled excursions and visits, entrance fees to museums, monuments and shows, taxes and services, daily press and magazines, security service and multilingual guide throughout the trip.
