The explosion comes as the situation in the Middle East continues to destablise with Israel continuing to fight the terrorist group Hamas in Gaza and fighting breaking out elsewhere.
Last month, there were fears another war would break out in the region after Turkey struck Iraq and Syria just before Christmas.
Following the incident, Turkey said its airstrikes had been an act of self-defence to secure its borders, but some security experts worried it marked a further step towards the destabilisation of the region.
Soon after, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan claimed the West wasn't doing enough to hold back Israel in Gaza as it continues its war against the terrorist organisation.
President Erdogan called Israel's war in Gaza a "shame for humanity" and added: "I hope that 2024 will be the year when the oppressors receive the punishment they deserve, and the wounds of the oppressed are healed."
As well as tensions with Turkey, Israel is also facing the potential of war with the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah that have put the IDF on high alert for war.
In the past few days, Hezbollah released footage of rockets blowing up buildings on the strategically important Mount Heron.
At the same time, the IDF has brought a radar blimp out of retirement to improve patrols over its border with Lebanon.

On the possibility of war with Hezbollah, an Israel host on Channel 13 said: "We must be prepared for the possibility that Nasrallah will soon seek new opportunities for revenge for Al-Arouri at the border.
"If we look at the Israeli army's response, it is only a restricted response in the Lebanese villages near the border."
Hezbollah has since ordered all residents of south Lebanon to evacuate the area.
