Quad bike Briton killed in Ecuador
A British man has been killed after he fell 150m into a ravine in Ecuador, the Foreign Office confirmed.
Tony Prowell, 26, who was originally from Hull but lived in Preston, Lancashire, is thought to have been on a quad bike tour near the River Pastaza, in Banos, when the tragedy happened last Wednesday.
The former forensic science student at the University of Central Lancashire was mid-way through a three-month holiday.
A Foreign Office spokesman said they were providing consular assistance to his family.
According to newspaper reports in Australia, teacher Millie Johnston, 25, from Perth, who was on the same trip, also plunged to her death from the beauty spot, which is about 300km south of the capital Quito.
