Yesterday hacked files revealed some were jailed on spurious charges such as growing a beard or not using their phones. Leaked photos show guards holding weeping prisoners, some shackled and hooded, in Xinjiang.
There are images of 5,000 people, the oldest a woman aged 73 and the youngest a girl of 15.
US scholar Dr Adrian Zenz said: “It blows apart the Chinese propaganda.”
China is accused of genocide after detaining a million Uyghurs in what it says is a war on terrorism.
