ATLANTA'S airport was evacuated earlier today following reports of an "active shooter".
Atlanta airport: Shots heard after accidental discharge
According to unconfirmed reports, there was a shooter the scene. Another person reported hearing shots at the airport and a large number of people attempting to flee the scene, although it was later revealed to be an accidental discharge.
Despite reports of a shooting, the airport confirmed there is no threat to travellers.
A statement from the airport read: "There is not an active shooter.
"There was an accidental discharge at the Airport.
"There is no danger to passengers or employees.
"An investigation is ongoing, more information will be published on this channel."
Previously, Ned Lannamann said: "I was evacuated from the Atlanta airport a few minutes ago because of an apparent active shooter situation.
"I’m in no danger but don’t really have any more information.
"Hope no one is hurt."

Dianna Callahan added: "I’m at the Atlanta Airport just boarded my flight to New York and we had to close our doors because of an alleged active shooter in the terminal.
"Delta is managing this as professional as always.
"We are hearing sirens but can’t verify anything.
"Will keep you up to date. Pray!"
Officials had said earlier: “There is no danger to passengers or employees.
"An investigation is ongoing, more information will be published on this channel."
