According to a recent poll from CNN, the President has slipped considerably behind his rival.
Released on Monday, the poll shows Joe Biden has a 14-point lead over Mr Trump, with sustained gains due to Mr Biden's handling of “race relations”.
The CNN-SSRS poll gave Donald Trump a 41 percent share of the prospective vote.
Polls conducted this month have also put the President at a disadvantage across the board.
Aside from a few rare exceptions, Joe Biden has retained a lead average of roughly 10 points when examining the polls together.
FiveThirtyEight, a site which collates, analyses and rates polls, found high-ranking pollsters agreed on Mr Biden's lead.
The latest sample from Ipsos, a B- rated pollster which posted results for June 8 to 9, found Biden had surged to the lead with 46 points to Donald Trump's 38.
If he is able to keep up the lead, experts believe he would win in key battleground states and potentially contest the Republican-dominated senate.

A selection of polls show the Democrat frontrunner has managed to capture more than 50 percent of the vote.
His latest feats surpass the efforts of Hillary Clinton, believed to have the edge over Donald Trump in 2016.
Polls suggested she never had a majority of the vote, with figures languishing in the 40s alongside her rival.
The results mirror those of another Democrat more than 40 years ago when then-presidential frontrunner Jimmy Carter's polls put him in a similar lead.
In June 1976 he also saw around 50 percent of support in the polls.
He ultimately defeated Republican Gerald Ford in the following November.
Political pundits credit Mr Trump's drop in the polls to his heavy-handed tactics against Black Lives Matter protesters, but he recently saw success with stronger-than-expected unemployment rates.
