Coronavirus: Trump says there is ‘light at the end of the tunnel’
A person in Kentucky, US, has tested positive for the coronavirus after they attended a “coronavirus party” for people in their twenties. The news came from governor Andy Besmear during a press conference on Tuesday.
He said: "Anyone who goes to something like this may think they're indestructible, but it's somebody else's loved one that they're going to hurt.”
Mr Besmear did not give details as to where, when, or how many people attended what he called a “coronavirus party”.
He did, however, criticise the event as a “callous” act that could put people in grave danger.
He said: "This is the part where I, the person that tells everyone to be calm, have to remain calm myself.
"This one makes me mad, and it should make you mad."
He took time to praise the actions of residents in his community.
He cited a local university that donated protective equipment to medical personnel as well as local food service and bourbon companies that teamed up to make hand sanitisers for hospitals.
Mr Besmear added: "We're battling for the health and even the lives of our parents and our grandparents, and don't be so callous as to intentionally go to something and expose yourself to something that can kill other people.
”We ought to be much better than that."

Despite young people being less at risk of developing serious health complications from COVID-19, they may still require hospitalisation for serious symptoms.
Even someone who contracts the virus and experiences mild symptoms can still pass on the disease to more vulnerable people.
And, those who contract the disease from people who experience mild symptoms could go on to be more seriously affected.

Mr Besmear offered a stark warning to the partygoers, reiterating the seriousness of what has happened.
He said: "This is one that I hope I never have to report on again.
"We should forgive this person, but no more of these anywhere — statewide — for any reason."
A total of 778 Americans have died of the virus.
Around the globe, there are 417,663 confirmed cases and 18,605 deaths.
President Donald Trump announced earlier today that he expected things to return to normality by Easter.
In an interview with Fox News, he said: “It’s such an important day for other reasons, but I will make it an important day for this, too.
"I would love to have the country opened up and just raring to go by Easter."
And, at a White House press briefing, Trump revealed his administration is working on a “sophisticated” plan for "reopening" the economy.
It has since emerged that the White House and Congress have agreed on a $2trillion (£1,6trillion) stimulus deal to tackle the coronavirus fallout.
