Iranian caller discusses surviving Quds assassination attempt
The Iranian caller Hossein Abedini told LBC's Tom Swarbrick of the traumatic assassination attempt that left him in a very serious condition for more than 45 days. Mr Abedini also revealed that Qassem Soleimani was responsible for "more than 450 major terrorist operations."
Mr Abedini said: "I was a target of an assassination attempt.
"I was very badly wounded when I was in Turkey to help some Iranian refugees."
Mr Swarbrick asked: "Someone tried to kill you?"
Mr Abedini replied: "Yes they tried to kill me.

"I was shot in the chest and also in the abdomen.
"I was very lucky because I went through 14 major surgeries.
"All these extraterritorial killings are directed by the Quds Force, and Qassem Soleimani was the head of the Quds Force for 22 years.
"The Iranian regime under Soleimani has been responsible for more than 450 major terrorist operations."

The LBC host said: "You’re saying that someone tried to assassinate you?"
Mr Abedini responded: "They actually ambushed my car.
"My car was sandwiched and I was shot several times.
"I was in a very serious situation, a near coma condition for more than 45 days.

"I had to go through many surgeries to survive."
Last week US President Donald Trump said regarding Qassem Soleimani's death: "Soleimani has been perpetrating acts of terror for the last 20 years.
"What the United States did yesterday should have been done long ago.
"A lot of lives would have been saved."
